This week’s word is COURAGE.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to touch on the inspiration that many women have shown in their fight with cancer. People can describe someone who is sick as “courageous” just for being sick.
I see courage in the things that amazing people do while they are battling sickness. From supporting a family while ill, to charity work, to being a good friend, continuing to make a difference while ill is courageous.
The most valuable resource we have is time and often those most sick give that.
It is easy to acknowledge the generosity of someone who has money when they give it to charity. But it is more valuable and courageous when someone, who doesn’t have much time left, spares what they have to help others.
For all those who we have lost to cancer, I’m in awe of the many examples of courage that I have seen. Their impact will be felt for generations.
